100-Hour Technician Program

This 100-hour comprehensive modularized course is designed to prepare individuals to assume the responsibility for coordinating a construction site-project safety program. A Technician may be a Site Safety Coordinator or a Foreman or an experienced Journey-level craftsperson seeking a safety career path. Certified 100-Hour Safety Technicians are qualified to teach the 40-Hour Safety Supervisor and 8-Hour Safety Orientation. Upon successful completion of the course, participant's skills may be recorded in the National Registry.

100-Hour Safety Technician Qualifications

  1. Have a high school diploma or graduate equivalency diploma (GED)
  2. Completions of the Wheels of Learning, Core Curricula - Basic Math/Module #00102 (15 hours) or equivalent are required as minimum prerequisites.
  3. Must have 3 years of verifiable construction experience; or
    have 2 years of work experience as a construction foreman, first line supervisor; job superintendent or manager; or have two years of work experience where at least 35% of job duties involve safety and health.
  4. Substituted qualifications may be accepted as outlined in the CSSP Guidelines.
