 The heart of this program is a complete training manual (250 pages) laid out in a competency-based training format in accordance with standard government
accepted specifications for training materials. This learning guide contains an introduction with the terminal objective of obtaining a thorough knowledge of the
OSHA scaffolding standard. Six separate enabling objective and information sheet sections help the student reach the terminal objective. Knowledge checks
at the end of each section ensure that the student received and understood the information. A final knowledge check covers the entire course.

The great advantage of this training manual is the fact that so many pictures and graphics are included. In order to develop the training manuals and accompanying videos, we actually erected all three types of scaffolding. 

The institute took hundreds of photos during the assembly procedure and placed them in the manual. We built both simple one section high towers, and complex four tier multiple bay scaffolds. These scaffolds demonstrate applications such as: putlogs used to span obstructions, suspended "dead legs", staircases, highly uneven ground conditions, and other unusual field situations. As a result, the manual contains step by step assembly instructions complete with step by step pictures. 

For example, if the written instruction says "attach the cross braces to the frame", a picture showing cross braces being attached to the frame is placed adjacent to that instruction on the page. We incorporated the philosophy: "A picture is worth a thousand words" into our program.

 

Scaffold Course on CD

This is the Scaffold User Course on interactive CD-ROM, with full-color graphics, video clips, instructor narration and pictures, pictures, pictures!   Students log on and their training is automatically tracked.   Step-by-step instruction lets each student proceed at their own pace.  A standard office PC with sound card and speakers is all you need to train individuals on your own schedule.  CD-ROM training is network compatible and purchase includes a site license for multi-workstation instruction.
